JYC Day 2 - Christmas Memories

When my family sees Christmas lights from the car, we yell, “Lights left!” and “Lights right!” as we speed by, to make sure that nobody misses anything. I’m not sure we’ll see a lot of strung Christmas lights here in Freetown, but I’m not sure Jasmine needs anymore excitement, anyway. Her wonder at seeing the tree light up was adorable!

Paper: Echo Park “Stripes and Dots” and Basic Grey “Aspen Frost”
Chipboard letters: Inhereted Basic Grey something-or-other
Ribbon: Bulk gros grain ribbon package purchases on Amazon
Tag: Leftover tags from last year’s wrapping, from Target

{JYC Day 1} Christmas Manifesto

JYC Day 1 - Christmas Manifesto

Pictured here is my journal page. Not pictured are photos for the opposing page, to be printed at a later date. Bertrand’s section head is leaving Freetown today, and his local staff wanted to throw him a party. They asked if they could do it at our place, and of course we said yes! Because there are SO MANY great pictures, I want to download the photos from my husband’s iphone before committing to printing.

I’m working my way through the SSS Holiday Card set. The base is cream colored Bazzil. I printed my manifesto directly on the card stock, then added plenty of embellishments. The stamps are SSS Holiday Labels. The ornament tags are last year’s Christmas gift tags from Target, and the ink is Stampin’ Up Not Quite Navy.

I downloaded Marcy Penner’s free December Flashcards and played with the colors a bit for my date tag. Her printables are super cute, so I may end up paying for a few.

Another Christmas Card – Peace on Earth!

Peace On Earth

This is my last Christmas card, I swear! I got a bunch of stamps in the mail much later than expected, and now I’m starting to feel the Christmas cheer. In fact, I’m feeling so Christmasy, I’m thinking about doing a December Daily, working through my stash. Hmmmm.

The idea for the layout came from a Splitcoast Stampers CAS Sketch Challenge.

Cardstock: Gina K 120lbs white. (I should have bought the lighter layering cardstock too. 120 lbs is way to heavy for layers.)

Stamps: Penny Black “A wish for Peace”.

Sentiment: Paper Smooches “Christmas Sampler.”

Ink: Versamark + Gold Embossing Poweder

Ribbon: Random set of 29034829034 colors I ordered off of Amazon.

Scrapbooking, Take 2

So close, yet so far ...

This is my second favorite set of Jasmine photos. I love the layout on the right, but I think the left layout still needs something. I have no idea what the paper is, but that’s some Stampin’ Up ribbon, and Basic Grey buttons.

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas

Christmas card

A few weeks ago, I attended my very first “scrap”. That is, I joined a group of American, Australian, British, Irish, and New Zealander women to cut and paste in public. It was marvelous. A whole day of social activities, and not a single person asked me about fuel, water, housing, the status of the importation of their personal effects, or any of the other myriad logistics difficulties that it’s my job to take care of.

And hey, who’s gonna turn down a day of cardmaking?

This card is actually the third or forth of it’s kind. I really like the way the three presents look, particularly with nice ribbon, but I haven’t quite found a design that I’m ready to mass produce for Christmas cards.

Baby thank yous

I did a series of very simple thank you cards for all the wonderful people who helped Bertrand and I get our feet on the ground after Jasmine was born. I used a variety of papers, ribbons, and inks, but this one is representative.
